- K-LOVE Fan Awards
We’re only days away from the biggest weekend in Christian entertainment! As the excitement builds and the final arrangements are made, we wanted to remind fans who are planning to come of a few ways in which they can prepare for the K-LOVE Fan Awards. There are generally two types of personalities when it comes to vacations or other special engagements. The first is an organizer who has drawn up maps, purchased a variety of dry erase markers and folders, and clocked the time it takes to travel from hotels to restaurants. The other personality type gets to the end of their trip and realizes they didn’t really do that much because there was zero planning involved. The following tips can be used by either type of person, although we suspect the more organized individuals will be the most excited about this topic. Here are five ways to prepare for the K-LOVE Fan Awards.
Get to Know Music City
For the fifth year in a row, the Fan Awards will be held in Nashville, TN. While there are always a large number of Music City natives that take part in this amazing weekend, many fans traveling to the K-LOVE Fan Awards are coming from hundreds or thousands of miles away. If you have never been to Nashville before, rest assured that you will not be able to experience absolutely everything this booming city has to offer.
Since there is simply too much to do and not all that much time to waste, we went ahead and compiled this handy Nashville travel guide to give you a few ideas. Between restaurants, historical sites, and activities within the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Resort, your family will have more than enough options to consider. There will be a full weekend of activities to take in at the K-LOVE Fan Awards, but if this is your only chance to ever see Nashville, maybe you’ll want to spend an extra day sightseeing or use a morning to check out a local breakfast hotspot. Whatever you choose to do, we’ve got your back. Take this time to learn more about a new city or discover something different about a place you’ve visited before.
Listen to This Year’s Nominees
With over 25 Christian artists and a handful of great Christian movies up for recognition at the 2017 K-LOVE Fan Awards, there’s a lot of entertainment for you and your family to catch up on before we get to the main event on Sunday, May 28. No matter how you’re planning on getting to the Grand Ole Opry this year, you can take this year’s nominees with you to keep the family entertained on the way.
If you’re driving up from Texas, you’ve got enough time to check out the latest albums from Chris Tomlin, Danny Gokey, and MercyMe. Flying in from the West Coast? Sound like a great opportunity to watch “Ben-Hur.” Even if you’re only driving across town, that Nashville traffic will give you enough time to listen to each of this year’s Breakout Singles like Love & The Outcome’s “The God I Know,” 7eventh Time Down’s “God is on the Move,” and others. You’re about to take in a weekend full of amazing performances. This is the time to nail down those lyrics so you can really live it up when the moment comes. You don’t want to get pulled up on stage by Lauren Daigle and completely blank on the words to “Trust in You.” Regardless of whether that opportunity ever comes to fruition, music is more fun when you’re familiar with it. We know you’ve been listening to K-LOVE all year, but why not take a quick refresher?
Put Together a Family Game Plan
Whenever you take a family trip, whether it’s to a theme park, the beach, or a camping ground, you need to have some element of a game plan. Like we said before, not everyone is a planner, but your family game plan is what keeps everyone together safely and with the same goal. For the K-LOVE Fan Awards your game plan might be arriving early on Friday night so that you can get the best possible seats for the Kick-Off Concert featuring MercyMe and others. Something else to consider are the artists meet and greets, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet a number of popular musicians whose music you love. Be sure to make time for this special part of the weekend if you’re joining us for the full experience.
If you’re only attending the awards show on Sunday night, your game plan is all about the red carpet. The hours leading up to the big night are so exciting as all the of the big names make their grand entrance amidst a slew of cameras and interviewers. Come early and you might be able to snag a spot along the side where you can shake hands with artists like Steven Curtis Chapman or the guys from Big Daddy Weave. When you go into the K-LOVE Fan Awards with a game plan, you have a better chance at making the most of your opportunity.
We know not everyone’s into planning and sometimes life is just a little unkind to the plans that we’ve made, but you might want to consider what’s important to you about your K-LOVE Fan Awards experience.
What’s Your Takeaway for the K-LOVE Fan Awards?
While we’re considering things, what exactly are you hoping to get out of this weekend? Is the K-LOVE Fan Awards about fun? Connecting more with your faith? Encouraging your children to have Christian role models? At the end of the trip, you’re going to want to look back and think about all of those boxes you checked off while you were in Nashville.
Maybe you have had a rough first half to 2017 and you are in desperate need for God to move in your heart. Come into this event having prayed through the areas in your life where you need to see His influence. Let a night full of powerful worship wash over you and minister to your soul. The K-LOVE Fan Awards is all about building a fun experience for fans, but we also want to minister to you spiritually while you’re here. As you make the final arrangements for joining us this weekend, we hope that you’ll consider what a successful trip looks like for you and your family.
Don’t Forget to Vote!
This is the K-LOVE Fan Awards after all. It would be a shame to come all the way out to Nashville and forget to vote for your favorite artists. There are so many big names on the ballot this year, so we won’t blame you if it takes a while to figure out your voting strategy. Be sure to get those votes in quickly though because each ballot goes toward providing free housing for a military warrior. Let your voice be heard and help a family in need at the same time. What could be better?
