Reading is one of the simplest pleasures in life. With every passing fad or technological improvement, there is still a large portion of the population that considers reading their favorite hobby. In the last few decades, technology has provided new possibilities when it comes to enjoying a book. First, there were books on cassette and CD, followed by e-readers like the Kindle and Nook. For what we’re talking about in this post, let’s constrict the definition of media to pop culture. We all know there are other problems out there, but pop culture is often the subject of boycotts, sermons, and more from the Christian Church.

While Dad watches the game in the den and Mom checks her Facebook in the living room, the kids sit in their respective rooms listening to music and playing video games. Since American households average roughly three television sets apiece, families are no longer forced to share their nightly entertainment. Throw in Xbox and Netflix and you’ll understand why family movies are not a special event anymore.
